Little Crow Water Ski Shows: Aug. 19, 7 p.m., Neer Park in New London. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, preschoolers get in free; reserved seating is $8. Grand finale show is Aug. 26.

Summer Movies in the Park: Aug. 19, 8 p.m., Baker Field at Bill Taunton Stadium. Willmar Parks and Recreation presents free movie night featuring “Angels in the Outfield.”

Kandiyohi County Historical Society 125th anniversary celebration: Aug. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pioneer Cabin on the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds in northwest Willmar. The 2nd Minnesota Battery Light Artillery, of Red Wing, will set up a Civil War encampment. Learn about Minnesota soldiers and their life in the Civil War with different stations for the public to see including the cannon, small arms and a ladies area — which will feature the Soldiers' Aid Society, quilt display, and apothecary. The Gun Drill will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The 2nd Minnesota Battery Re-enactors are a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Civil War history by living it.

There will also be kids carnival games, root beer floats, food, music, a silent pie auction and a friendly competition between the towns in Kandiyohi County. Each town will have a jar and the one who ends up with the most money in it at the end of the day will be featured in a display in 2023 at the museum and at the Kandiyohi County Fair. For the silent pie auction, anyone is welcome to donate pies. Call Karen Hernandez at 952-540-3470 .

Forest City Stockade Rendezvous: Aug. 20-21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the site 6 miles northeast of Litchfield on state Highway 24. Admission is $5, ages 12 and under free. Pioneer crafts, new sod house, Native American artifacts display by Larry Levin, live music, schoolhouse with children’s activities, wagon rides, violin making, birch bark canoe builder on Sunday only. Food served all day including buffalo sandwiches, pickled eggs, homemade ice cream, old-fashioned root beer, fry bread and more.
